BLACK HISTORY MONTH

Seeing as it is Black History Month in the United States and Canada this month, we thought we'd shine the spotlight on Nelson Mandela.

You can take your pick as to what you could find as inspiration when digging into South Africa's iconised father figure. Still, in this particular scenario, we thought it was appropriate to focus on February.

11 February marked precisely 31 years since Mandela was released from prison! 4 years later, he became president, and South Africa's trajectory as a nation changed forever.

In 1996, South Africa won its first-ever African Cup of Nation's as a unified country, beating Tunisia 2-0 in the final on the 3 February, hosted in Johannesburg's FNB Stadium - now, Soccer City. Mandela was there supporting captain Neil Tovey in lifting the trophy!

We had a little fun honouring both facts and drew Madiba wearing the cultural classic 1996 winning kit, celebrating as if he was Mark Williams banging in the winner!
